Creating with Consent: Onstage Intimacies
Cal Summer Arts 2023
Theatrical Intimacy Education
In the pursuit of becoming a more well-rounded theater artist, I completed a 40 hour intensive led by Amanda Rose Villareal of Cal State Fullerton, focused on the creation of consent-based and trauma-informed theater spaces, as well as the intricacies of creating intimacy choreography in numerous scenarios. At the end of the intensive, I was able to act as an intimacy choreographer in a final showcase piece devised by myself and my fellow students.
I have continued my studies in the field, taking further workshops with Theatrical Intimacy Education, as well as receiving my Mental Health First Aid Certification from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
